DICOM files usually arrive on a CD, a USB drive, or as a ZIP download from a patient portal. On a disc or drive, the files are typically inside a folder named DICOM or IMAGES, and the individual files may have a .dcm extension or no extension at all. If you received a ZIP, unzip it first.
