The University of Florida’s Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is a leading program recognized as the highest-ranked in Florida and one of the top 50 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The division is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research, bringing together a multidisciplinary team of skilled physicians, healthcare professionals, and scientists.

Specialties and Services

The division offers a comprehensive range of cardiovascular care across several specialized areas:

• Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD & Transplantation: Expert care for patients with severe heart failure, including those requiring left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and heart transplantation.

• Aortic Disease Center: Specialized treatment for complex aortic conditions, ensuring patient-centered care for conditions such as aneurysms and dissections.

• Electrophysiology: Focused on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders, providing advanced care for arrhythmias and related conditions.

• General Cardiology / Non-Invasive Imaging: Offering broad cardiovascular care, including non-invasive diagnostic imaging to assess and monitor heart conditions.

• Interventional Cardiology: Providing minimally invasive procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement to treat coronary artery disease and other vascular conditions.

• Sports & Exercise Cardiology: Specialized care for athletes and active individuals, focusing on optimizing heart health and performance.

• Women’s Cardiology: Tailored cardiovascular care addressing the unique heart health needs of women.

The division is at the forefront of cardiovascular research, conducting numerous clinical trials in areas such as myocardial ischemia, hypertension, heart attacks, heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, and arrhythmias. Additionally, the division is dedicated to the education and training of the next generation of leaders in cardiovascular medicine, hosting 26 fellows who gain extensive experience under the guidance of expert faculty.
